Nietono no SHANA (“Shana of the Flame Lord”)

Background
Shana doesn’t know her real name. In fact, she never had a name. Raised in a convent by martial artists, Shana is a “Flame Haze”, or a swordsman who specializes in both the martial arts and flame-based magic. Flame Hazes are few and far between, and they don’t like to associate with others of their kind outside of their convents. They aren’t given names, but rather are taught their skills and given the responsibility to do what they can to keep the weight of the world from tipping…

In essence, they’re really just glorified magical Vigilantes, for lack of a better word for it.

According to some mythos, they hunt down creatures called the “Guze no Tomogara”, though in essence that could just be the cruelty within others’ hearts and could just punish evildoers. That’s what Misuzu thinks anyway, after she and Alfons cornered Shana to at least get her to talk about herself. But Shana really doesn’t have much of a story to tell. She was born, she grew up, she trained…she was happy as a child, as far as she could remember, but she still was never given a name. Was rather called the “Red-eyed, Red-Haired Hunter of the Flame of Heaven, Alastor”, which was a ‘code name’ of sorts. Her ‘proof’ of being a Flame Haze, the pendant “Alastor”, hangs around her neck. Her pendant is sentient…rather, the soul of a great Flame Haze of the same name was stored into that pendant, and acts as an amplifier for Shana’s power, and acts as a father figure to Shana.

She had been wandering the capital, finally starting her journey as a Flame Haze, and found herself without a place to stay. Wandering the streets, she was found by a certain Misuzu Kamio, who then urged her into her home, where she met Alfons Heiderich, her roommate. After much coercing on both their parts, Shana got a place to stay…but when Alfons asked Shana her name, she admitted she didn’t have one. Misuzu then called her “Shana” after the sword she carried, “Nietono no Shana”.

Out of boredom, she had decided to take on the Magitech book beta, though maybe it will actually do more for her in the end than she realizes…

Distinguishing features/Mental Characteristics/Interesting Facts
Distinguishing features: Long, black hair and a short frame, usually covered in a long black coat in which her Enchanted Sword, Nietono no Shana, is kept. She has a strange pendant around her neck, in which it seems that a flame is constantly burning…and speaking of burning, when she gets into battle, her hair and eyes go red, and a flaming aura circles around her. She is often seen with melon bread.
Personality: Short, and rather rude, Shana is one of those people cursed with being unable to speak sensitively due to her upbringing. Despite her rather curt way of going about things, Shana speaks the truth as she sees it, but at the same time she is still rather shy in her own way and doesn’t know how to act in social situations. Used to taking care of herself, she tends to shuck away others’ attempts to help, and it makes it hard for her to trust people, even when they have the best of intentions. But when she does trust people, and she is close enough to a person, she will believe in them entirely, and do whatever she can for that person…even if she might have a jealous clingy streak towards her loved ones. Deep down, she’s a good person, but since she’s so rough around the edges that you get bloody scrapes from fifty feet away, it’s really hard to find it.
Interesting facts: Shana is really smart. Smart enough to where if one says something that she finds stupid, or even ‘wrong’, she will point it out and argue that she’s right until she’s blue in the face. Either that or until the other person runs off crying (which is known to happen, even with teachers and professors). Though despite that intelligence, she’s extremely immature, and will act like a child on many an occasion.
Relationships
Alfons Heiderich: Alfons is the one who runs the household that Shana lives in, and even from an “I live here” perspective, there is respect present for her. She is a bit too accepting for Shana’s tastes (not so much as Misuzu, who just flat-out confuses her), but she is grateful for letting her live under her roof. Alfons is quiet, so Shana doesn’t really get annoyed with her like she sometimes does Misuzu, who is a chatterbox. She’s also gained a degree of protectiveness towards her, perhaps because of this fact, and gets very angry when she does something that might cause her self-harm. She also believes (based on rather farfetched evidence) that she has deep feelings for Edward Elric.
Misuzu Kamio: The Roommate who had taken her in, Shana’s grateful for her and Alfons for giving her a place to stay (even giving her her own room). But at the same time, she can’t stand the fact of how damn NICE she is. Unlike Alfons, who just has infinite patience and a really long fuse, Misuzu is nice to people on the level of near stupidity. For someone like Shana, who is very introverted and rather curt with everyone she meets, this is hard for her to understand. She feels a degree of responsibility and protectiveness towards her though, and gets annoyed when she does something that could get her hurt just to be nice to someone.
Alphonse Elric: A young woman who reminds her a lot of Misuzu, Shana talked some sense into her about an issue regarding her older brother, Edward Elric. She finds it fitting that Misuzu and Al are becoming friends.
Edward Elric: Shana doesn't hate him, but thinks that he's in love with Alfons. That, and he's a lesbian-obsessed, penis-thinking pervert, who wants nothing more than to get the three roommates into a threesome with each other. She doesn't hate him as much as she hates Roy, though.
Roy Mustang: She outright abhors him. She thinks of him as a full-of-himself blowhard who can't listen to reason and would rather whine behind his own ego and talk down to people rather than stand up for his own issues. She finds him more spineless than Misuzu, and that's saying a lot.
